Background

‘Making the gym experience unique’ is the GymBox philosophy; from its larger than life trainers to its fun, social environment. So when our client at GymBox London wanted to replace messy noticeboards with slick touchscreens, they had more in mind than simple aesthetics.

First and foremost, they wanted an on-brand paper-free way of communicating member information in one handy place. A place where members could check class times and prices, make contact with VPTs (Very Personal Trainers), be the first to hear about special events, and stay up to date with Facebook and blog content.

Our client also wanted to be able to manage this content both at site level and at central head office, improving operational efficiency throughout the estate.

Challenge

With nothing on the market that could do everything GymBox wanted, the only solution was to create a bespoke kiosk application from scratch. One that provided full functionality at a scale in keeping with the industrial-retro look and feel of GymBox.

Solution

Embracing the challenge as an opportunity, we collaborated with our digital media partners to create a bespoke digital kiosk application with i-like navigation experience. This included industrial grade computer hardware, a 46” multi-touch screen mounted in portrait orientation to mimic a poster and custom-built stainless steel bezel to complement the GymBox interiors.

Result

Such was the positive response to the new digital kiosk, we’ve since been commissioned to install similar kiosks in every club across the GymBox estate.
